The criminal justice system is often complex even to those people who have legal training. Often, those without legal training who are facing drug charges -- among others -- are unsure of their situation. For example, a man who is now facing criminal charges after he allegedly sold drugs to a police informant is likely wondering about his legal options.
The man's arrest happened on a day in mid-September. According to reports, the 32-year-old man sold methamphetamine to a police informant. Police reportedly recorded the transaction.
After the alleged transaction took place, a tactical team is said to have entered the residence where it occurred and arrested the man. After obtaining a search warrant, a backpack reportedly in his possession was searched. Police say that there were four bags of methamphetamine inside. The man now faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, second-degree trafficking in drugs, unlawful use of a weapon and delivery of a controlled substance. Police say that he had approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine in his possession.
In a recent court appearance related to drug charges and other allegations in Missouri, the man waived a preliminary hearing, and he was ordered to stand trial. As a result of the charges -- among others -- he is left facing decisions that will likely impact the rest of his life. With an experienced professional on his side, he may have more confidence in the decisions that he must now make, including whether to fight the charges in court or plead guilty, potentially in exchange for a reduced sentence and/or charges.
