A driver must take in a great deal of information while driving and channel that information into action. Between ensuring that a vehicle is running properly and monitoring other vehicles in the area, it is understandable that a driver may make a mistake. Unfortunately, police in Missouri and across the country may be quick to assume that a mistake was actually due to DWI.
Unfortunately, a woman is now facing criminal charges following an accident. Police say that the woman crashed her minivan into a Missouri Chinese restaurant around 4 p.m. on a day in late November. Witnesses claim that they advised the driver to turn off her vehicle when she attempted to reverse out of the store.
There were reportedly at least six employees and two customers in the restaurant at the time of the accident. Both customers, a 6-year-old and her grandfather, were transported to the hospital; the extent of their injuries is unclear. The driver, allegedly an employee at the restaurant, was arrested.
As a result of the incident, the woman now faces two counts of DWI. Despite the allegations against her, her blood alcohol content at the time -- and how it was determined -- is unclear.
