The incident happened during the early morning hours of a day in mid-August. According to reports, the 11-year-old was riding on an off-road vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man. The man reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to strike a tree. The girl was thrown and ultimately pinned underneath the vehicle.
She was transported to the hospital but passed away as a result of injuries suffered in the collision. Police claim that the man admitted to consuming alcohol both before and after the accident. His blood alcohol content was reportedly over the legal limit 90 minutes after the accident happened. He has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
